Cari's Cosmetic Obsessions: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Flagship Opening and Press Preview

Hello Beauties!

Cari here giving the goods on Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics first ever flagship store on the lower east side.  It graciously opened its doors for a press preview on September 22nd. Obviously, I was honored to attend.   The chic boutique is located on 174 Ludlow Street between Houston and Stanton. It’s a rustically decorated space with exposed brick walls, rich dark wood, glass and black metal textures.  I was particularly infatuated with this metal chandelier.
There are glass displays overflowing with bold, bright neon’s and hyper pigmented lip tars, polishes and gem toned loose eye shadows in an  amazing array of shades.  Each equally as beautiful as the next.  You can’t help wanting to poke your finger into each little pot.  At the end of the night I had swatches all over the back of my arm and a wish list that doubled in size.
At the door I was greeted by David Klasfeld, CEO/Creative Director.  It was a pleasure to meet this refreshing, humble and approachable man.  He even provided his press with vegan chicken appetizers from Foodswings and mojitos that were delish.  He’s pretty low key but once engaged about his creations he lights up the room with his passion. His purpose for opening the OCC boutique on the  lower east side is because he feels the area has become the hub of all things creative and artistic.  David explained how he choose the name Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  More than 6 years ago he was working with different clients who were very particular about their makeup and he found himself constantly thinking these people all have OCD.  And so he created OCC in order to give  his clients the opportunity to create any look their heart desired.
OCC does not have the traditional counter set up in which a makeup artist is on the other side of the counter.  Instead they stand beside you helping you achieve your vision.  If there is a favorite lip color that has been discontinued OCC mixing bar can help you recreate it!  This location will be offering instructional workshops and more goodies to come. So if you need a refreshing beauty fix check out OCC it's whats HAUTE!!
