Since I started The Five Dollar Project I've been on the hunt for pieces that are unique, fun, and wearable. The only requirement is that item be five dollars or under. And I am not alone, I've gotten everyone in on the hunt for chic and cheap pieces. While recently shopping for makeup with my friend Nydia we came across a street vendor selling boxed jewelry. Knowing my penchant for crosses, spikes, and animal things, Nydia picked out this snake head bracelet which was only five dollars!
I love the detail on the snake heads and the mix of silver and gold tones. The problem is I have tiny wrist syndrome and the bracelet was too big! What to do? At first I thought of padding it underneath with other bracelets, but then it wouldn't stand out as much. So I pushed it up to my forearm and voila! My bracelet has been transformed into a cute cuff.
I made it work, Tim Gunn would be proud.
