THE FIVE DOLLAR PROJECT

When I was a kid five dollars took me a long way.
It paid for breakfast, or a set of plastic neon bracelets.  It would get me packs and packs of Garbage Pail Kids or that plastic charm necklace with the toy charms of which the record player was my favorite.  You know that expression a kid in a candy store?  Well, back then a kid in a candy store with five dollars was king! You'd come out with a shopping bag filled with enough Jolly Ranchers, Big Blows, and Now and Laters to keep your little six year old heart pumping high all day.  It was the best, until inflation and puberty hit and five dollars wasn't enough anymore.
This is where The Five Dollar Project was born.  My mission is to find fabulous things for only five dollars, like these sunglasses from Forever 21.  When I put them on they were instantly flattering with their tortoise frame and gold accents.  Plus the price is right! $5

  4. aww, this is a cute idea! I like the little blurb - and yes, you're right; when you're young, $5 goes a lot further! I used to buy comic books with mine.
