High/Low: Polka Dot Tops

I have always had a thing for polka dots.  I wore a polka dot dress to my sixth grade graduation and almost got my mother to buy me a pair of matching heels, but I could only muster up a few wobbly steps before tumbling over.  There's something about polka dots that feels very retro to me, like red lips and pearls.  With designer Marc Jacobs featuring them heavily in his Fall 2011 collection the print is experiencing yet another fashion rebirth.  Why not try incorporating a piece of polka into your own wardrobe?  A scarf, some tights, or a top are a few fun ways to try the trend.   Here are two tops that will have you seeing spots :)

This top is from the Marc by Marc Jacobs line and features white crystal embellished spots.  The color of the top makes it easy to pair with a skirt like the one shown or jeans for an even more relaxed look.  Simple yet very much on trend, I can see this look paired with low top white chucks and a cute straw bag.  Retail $140 at net-a-porter.

This look combines two trends in one, neon and polka dots.  The top is from Forever 21 and is an inexpensive way to enjoy the polka dot look.  The shirt pops hard so keep your other pieces simple.  Retail $12.80 at Forever21.
