In September during NYFW I attended the International Fashion Bloggers (IFB) conference. A wonderful event hosted by Jennine Jacob it featured guest speakers, goodies, and sponsor giveaways. One of this giveaways was a chance to design your own shoe. I thought this was an awesome idea and was happy to learn that I was a winner! It was my chance to completely design a shoe from top to bottom, also they would put my blog name on the box and on the inside of the shoe! How fresh is that! I got busy designing the leopard wedge of my dreams, sent in my pics and waited to hear back from them.
There was two months of waiting. I was emailed once about picture details which I sent right away. Then when I called to ask about my order I got the most horrible customer service. One person said it was shipped, while another said it was still being processed. After contacting them on Twitter I got an email saying my order had been put to the side by mistake and was finally being made. By this time I had pretty much given up on ever getting the shoes.
Then one day after all the months of waiting, they finally arrived! Are they exactly what I imagined? No, but I still think they're cute. I won't slander the companies name, but I'm not promoting them either because I don't want anyone else to have to go through the same thing.
Moral? Sometimes free isn't always fresh.
