Sexy silks, cut out tops, and animal prints! Is this heaven? No, but it's close. It's the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2011 presentation at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. So it's no surprise I'm a huge fan of Minkoff's, not only is she a dope designer, she's really a nice person. She's always doing contests and giveaways for handbags or accessories. And with each presentation her popularity grows. Don't believe me? The line to get inside was wrapped around the corner! I was excited to see what she was offering for spring. This season Rebecca was inspired by fashion icons of the seventies like Bianca Jagger and Janis Joplin. This inspiration led her to create Hippie chic draped looks in exotic textures and prints. On their feet the models rocked the recently launched shoe collection, which is even hotter in person. There were the leopard booties, and fierce handbags in neutral python prints. Studs are back, but aren't the main focus as they adorn straps and play the corners of clutches. And let's not forget the clothing, a relaxed feminine look was a recurrent theme. A favorite piece was the gray top with the sexy cut out sides. My girlyness gets giddy when it sees pretty pieces such as these. Twenty-five cool girl approved looks that can go hard and soft, I want now! A haute success!
