GETFRESHTIPS: Put Your Gingham Dress On

Let's face it, life's not always a picnic, but at least you can dress like you're at one. Designers have taken gingham print dresses out of the preschool and placed them onto runway with fashionable success. The cuts are sexy and the styles vary from the traditional to dresses with daring details. This look goes perfect with the recently popular sexy side braid and a pair of stacked clogs. Yes, it still makes me think of Little House on the Prairie, but these dresses aren't for your typical farm girl. "Check" em out below, pun intended.

Designer Christopher Kane is fast becoming a favorite of mine for his genius dress construction. His take on the gingham dress features a bustier style bodice, sheer sides and an open back. I fell in love with this dress at first sight, perfect with Chanel clogs. Retail $2,292

Moschino goes more traditional with their take on the gingham trend for the LOVE Moschino brand. This dress features a tiny blue gingham print and ruffle detail at the bust, shoulders and hem. Grab your straw bag and espadrilles for a perfect date look. Retail $399

The shirtdress is a summer favorite and this one by Quicksilver gives you a toned down version of the gingham trend. The Lost and Found Dress is understated but sexy with it's ruffled sleeves framing the arms. Cute with a pair of all white sneakers or even better the new Missoni Converse. Retail $78
